It's me - 2 years too late!

Hello...world.

2 years later (and older) I return to my blog to find myself in a totally new situation, University.

Last time we met it was a buzz of going to that festival called Sonisphere, ahh yes...that was a long time ago now.

So here I am, 21 years old, slightly taller..longer hair but still the same old me, just with a different perspective on life. :)

And so you ask, what is to tell? Well I am here in my first semester of my first year at University and I am studying Television Production! I love the whole technical aspect (especially camera) of creating TV and thought hey, let's do a degree in London near Jamie (oh yes we are still together) and then share a flat with lots of random people and hopefully have an awesome time.

Well it is pretty damn awesome :)

I live in Harrow - it isn't the most glamorous of places but for North West London it ain't bad. My flatmates consist of all girls and are all from outside the U.K. I did have one guy from Southampton living with me but he moved out - shame  :(

Anyways, our flat is generally alright and I've made some nice friends on the course - a couple who are slightly bizarre ;) and leave notes under my door telling me they 'know my secret' but anyway that's a different story.

My room is on the small side but there's nothing to complain about, I have my own bathroom, high speed internet and a TV! Yes the TV student gets the TV with many green eyes of envy from my fellow TV students ;)

Generally it's been a great experience just having that independence I always craved. When I want food I get food and when I want my dinner at 9.30 at night, I can. It sounds sad but those little things are really cool.

I am rambling I know, it's been so long since I have written a blogpost....too long.

Another thing I want to talk about is that University has given me a fresh start - my social life is 100% better than it used to be at home and I have also taken the plunge in joining the musical theatre society where I have managed to get an ensemble part in the new production of the CopaCabana! Can't wait for that!. I have also joined the comedy society :)

I also think being at this University is amazing - it has brilliant facilities. Our TV studio is state of the art and the equipment is fab too. The library has everything I need and it's so modern too. Wow I should really write a promotional leaflet for this uni haha I love the place ;) *such a geek*

Anyways enough rambling about university...I have some other MAJOR news.

(there's me with my arm around both Sharon and Robert ;) )

My dream came true - I MET WITHIN TEMPTATION!!! After their Elements gig in Antwerp, Belgium on the 13th November 2012 - IT WAS AMAZING!!!!!!!! Absoloute dream come true, I was speechless and yes I have the photo to prove it ;)

Best thing of this year was meeting my favorite band of all time and the fact we were staying in the same hotel as them = win!

In other news : I now work for BBC Flog it! as a production steward! Yes I have BBC as an employer..........win! I just get to talk to people and watch the film crew all day, just awesome. I'm working for one in Oxford this Saturday (8am call time :( ) but apart from that, I can't wait! Woohoo!

It's been great to blog again, hopefully won't leave it 2 years until another blog post!

Signing off

Rachel.......x

If there was an award for the laziest blogger in the world , I believe I would have won every single year. I apologise to everyone that 2010 has offically been the laziest blogging year for me!! So much has happened ....but first I would like to wish everyone a (late)....

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!
Hope you all got what you wanted, and a bit more on the side...chocolate I'm guessing.
It feels goo
d typing at the keyboard again, for blogging purposes. I have neglected this blog so bad...not one post since July, I mean I've aged another year since the last one...and started a media course at college...which is going well for once!

I am actually loving it It makes me laugh because the last time I blogged was in July and I talked about the excitement of going to Sonisphere and everything.
For a first festival experienc
e I couldnt have asked for a better one, it was seriously immense. This brings me to the story of Sonisphere...2010....(a blog within a blog) *drum roll please?* DADAADADADADADAAAAAAAA
SONISPHERE!!!
31st July - 1st August 2010

Thursday
After driving to Knebworth, hertforshire (130 miles away from where I live) we sat waiting to get in the queue for about 2 hours!! We had so much stuff xD Finally Nicky, Anna and Ashley came to help us carry our stuff and we pitched our tent underneath a lovely blow up doll named Ingrid next to the arena and inbetween the main two pathways (d'oh) Thanks Nicole ;)

Ingrid

Our tent, and the insane amount of stuff we brought with us xD Such as 2 water carriers and a crate of food lol!

After everyone settled in it was the start of a crazy night which ended up in 2 people throwing up after going on the waltzers ;) and getting completley pissed ;). No one slept that night xD

Friday
After a sleepless night and a breakfast of fried eggs and bacon we waited the whole day for one of my favourite bands Delain. Well done to them to kicking the whole thing off!

Later on we saw Alice Cooper, Europe (with everyone singing along to the Final Countdown) and various other bands.
We also completed the world record attempt of the most amount of people doing the time warp dance..it was very entertaining xD Dont know if we managed to achieve it or not haha!
Alice Cooper must have killed himself about 10 times during his perfomance xD

Alice rockin out ;)

Saturday
Saw the amazing Lacuna Coil and couldnt believe my luck when I actually MET THEM!!! OMG!!! I have never met a band before and to meet one of my favourite ones was legendary! I will never forget it, the whole band signed my bag too!

Cristina Scabbia was so friendly :)

After seeing Lacuna Coil, Good Charlotte, Iggy Pop, Apocalyptica and Corey Taylor we waited for the immense...RAMMSTEIN!

Pyro, glitter, confetti, fireworks, the keyboard crowd surfing in a boat, the Du Hast song sung by the audience rather than the singer just is what this gig was all about...I have never seen such an amazing live perfomance from a brilliant band! It was sweet and definetley the best thing of the whole festival!!!
Sunday

Now it was time for the raving times of Skindred, Pendulum and Iron Maiden!!!
An amazing day with the lengendary Iron Maiden to finish the festival off!!

Monday

I was very very very tired...and ill lol. I packed my car up with everyones stuff and did 2 runs to the train station and back. My car was so weighed down with stuff that it kept stalling...on roundabouts...oops. lol

I then had to drive the whooooooooooole way home on the M1 and flopped in the door as soon as I walked in xD Nicky and I thought my house was awesomely big and was rather different to being in a tent the past 4 days...and the pasta bake was the best food we'd eaten in days...mmm.

So that was sonisphere...and it was the highlight of my whole year! AND.........It didnt even rain! xD
& the loo's werent that bad xD ha!

Summer - December

I started an IT apprenticeship in September but absoloutley hated it. The whole thing was bitchy and they put you down at every given opportunity....I survived 2 days and quit.....then started college on the Monday xD Finally, Rachel decided to take the plunge and study Media..the one thing that I belong to do in life...its awesome. Have just completed 2 videos and hopefully will get a good mark. Nice people too :)...and I get Fridays off ;)

Christmas was good :) I got a new camera =D it's a sony cybershot and it's beautiful <3

Time to Sign off

Happy New Year Everyone!

Beware of Ducks.

The Ramblings...

They are out to get you.

This classic road warning sign can be found just around the corner from my house (technically you turn a corner, cross a park, do a left...) anyway. It's awesome.

It's awesome because it's warning road users of ducks, yes my friends..ducks. Not just any ducks...oh no...the 3 or maybe 4 ducks that live at the mere just down the road from this sign.
There are probably more, maybe swarms of ducks hiding in the bushes that we don't know about...or there were ...20 odd years ago when this sign was put up.

Can you imagine driving your car and then suddenly a load of angry ducks appearing from nowhere trying to cross the road? No I can't either...and in the 14 years of living in this quiet town I have never seen a duck attempt to cross the road....strange.

(Also notice the 2 "Mark Pritchard" signs above it, they are plaguing the lamposts everywhere at the moment!)

Anyway....these are the sort of things I will always remember about my town. Duck signs, meres, ducks, swans, grass ..etc. When I move to London I won't have any of those things...well I know there are some swans, ducks and a bit of grass xD haha.

This was a random post...as always. I just wanted to tell you all about the features of my little town...there are a few others I just don't have pictures for them..yet =P

The Latest.....

I keep trying for jobs and so far haven't managed to get one ...yet. I won't give up though..
Jamie's been up to stay a lot and we've seen each other loads recently which is great... :)

As for other things, not much happening really. Just attending interviews and things, signing on at my favourite place in the world...the job centre and seeing friends and stuff.

I'm sure I'll have something totally awesome to blog about besides road signs and I'm sure one will follow after my upcoming trip to York :)

Thats it for now....

:)

7th April 2010 - Our Anniversary

22nd February 2009

That is the date when I found Jamie Fawcett..a simple guy from London, who seemed to love Within Temptation as much as I do.

It was that evening around 11pm, that I was checking the WT website. News had been posted of Sharon giving birth to a baby boy, Robin.
I sent my congrats on the guestbook, and underneath my post was Jamie's. He had left his location as London, and also his email address.

I was in a random mood that night, call it fate but I added him to my msn...and that was the beginning of us.

We hit it off like a house on fire. He loved Within Temptation, Nightwish and loads of other bands that I love....he sent me a picture...and I fell in love.

He was shy at first, I told him about my love of WT and the time I flew out to Holland to see them live. We chatted until the early hours of the morning even though he had college at 9am, he stayed to talk to me.

I spent that time watching him on webcam, I was besotted. He had short blondey/brown hair, had a gorgeous smile, beautiful blue eyes, olive skin and a warm friendly face. I couldn't keep my eyes off him all night. I was in love.

Finally I let him go to sleep, but I couldn't sleep one wink. We talked the next day, and the day after, and the day after...and it carried on.

We liked each other from the start. He told me about London, his friends, what he did with his life..and I did the same.
From the start I knew he was something special, we had something here and I hadn't even met him yet.

It was a few weeks later that we became open and displayed our love for each other on facebook...only weeks after we had met. (sounds romantic I know) then on the 7th April 2009...I travelled 2 and a half hours on the train to London to meet him...a day I'll never forget.

We hit it off straight away. We shared the same love of films (back to the future, star wars, school of rock), we laughed at the same things, we took an interest in the things around us...we just...gelled. He took me around all the sights, and then came the chinese buffet.
I was terrible! I couldnt eat anything...he payed for it all...he was such a gentleman..yet I was too nervous to eat! I felt so awkward!

Then after the chinese, he took me to see Mall Cop :) We laughed at the same parts, I leant up to him...cuddled him. It felt like I had known him for years...I knew he was for me at that moment...I was so happy.

After he had walked my little feet off (and worn my feet down to blisters), he payed for us to go back to Euston and we said goodbye.

I've never cried so much on a train, I missed him...like hell.

After that I spent nearly every other weekend down in London, I met his family and friends...and we just shared this amazing love.

I've never felt so happy with a guy before, he made me feel on top of the world...and still does to this day. I was always so self concious about my body and never thought any guy could look past that. But Jamie did, and he always has loved me for who I am.

I love him so much words alone cannot describe it. We are soulmates and I know we are right for each other.

Sure we have had our ups and downs, but I cannot think of a person I would rather want to spend my life with.

So here's to you baby, we've made it to a year...and counting.

I loved you yesterday, I love you today, and I'll love you tomorrow.

Let's enjoy it.

The little sister

There's some people you'll never forget in your life, and that person in my life is Nicky from York

She lives about 200 miles from me, but we have spent some awesome times together including :
  • Spending time at gigs getting sweaty, thirsty and tired and generally having the time of our lives - We even travelled to Holland at 5am in the morning to see Within Temptation - we were shattered but it was totally worth it
  • Camping out in rural Yorkshire, complete with picnics next to waterfalls eating baked beans and hot dogs
  • Travelling up and down the country in cars just to see each other, thanks to parents who drove us at the time ;)
  • Watching movies, especially music dvd's and singing along (never caring if we sound like strangled cats) :P
  • Wandering around the city of York, millenium bridge and Rowntrees Park and having a laugh :P
  • Wearing hard hats and still looking fabulous.
Infact, this doesn't cover half of it :) Only Nicky knows and remembers the good times we have shared, and Im sorry sis for not seeing you for a whole year. But I will try my best to make it up to you and see 2010 as the year we meet again :)
.
Because Nicole Smith of York, England. You are Awesome! And yes darling, I will have a Heavy Metal Wedding ;) AND you will definetley be a bridesmaid ;)

Love you sis

Rach x

(P.S Im sorry this didn't match up to your blog haha)
