Nightwish Live

Be still my son..your home

Well, its over...and by gum was it amazing!

Saturday 29th March 2008
Having already travelled all the way up to manchester to pick up little sis Nicky, we picked up Charley around 4:30pm and made our way to Birmingham.
Unfortunatley the weather wasnt very great as it was chucking it down with rain.. but that did not dampen our spirits for the night ahead!
After managing to get lost in the center of Birmingham and briefly seeing the obsure structure of the Bullring we managed to find the windy street that lead to the sight of hundreds of black hooded people lining outside the Carling Academy.

"CRAP" I thought....we'll never get to the barrier! :(
Anyway...Charley, Nicky and I ran to the end of the ever growing queue and stood behind some other Within Temptation/Nightwish lovers.
It was so cold, but we knew we would be inside the academy sooner or later!
The queue started to move at about 5:40 and once we were in there everyone seemed to be on the balcony!
I asked a strange guy with a mohican how to get "downstairs" and we ran to the ..well...nearly empty stage.
WOAH! We were like, 2 rows from the barrier, you could see it! AND We had a perfect view of Tuomas's keyboards.
After I had grabbed my enormous beaker of water, the lights dimmed and the crowd got excited.
PAIN played some very rocky songs, I managed to get loads of good pics :D And everyone including me was headbanging away to "Nailed to the ground" =P It was ace.

PAIN came and went, and we were all warmed up for the amazing Nightwish. Nicky's nerves were going crazy and some screams came when Marco (or someone) walked across the back of the stage, it was getting so close..

After a half an hour wait, the lights dimmed again and the intro started.
Purple light shone on the "nightwish" logo...

Nightwish came onto the stage, and their presence felt amazing! Anette wore a black kaftan-type thingy and Tuomas wore his top hat =P
Marco, Emppu and Jukka took their places to begin "Bye Bye Beautiful"
After an amazing start, Nightwish continued to impress me!
Songs like "The siren" , "Whoever brings the night" , "Wishmaster" and "Nemo" just blew me away!..
Nightwish's special Guest Troy Donockley played along with "last of the wilds" and "the islander" ...it was amazing!!
The Poet and the Pendulum live was mind blowing....!
And then marco said "now its time we played you a slow song..."
Slaying the dreamer!!
haha.

Anette really did lead the crowd, being quite flirty with Tuomas and winking as she was saying "The last song...;) " haha... great...
I was lucky enough to have a perfect view throughout the whole show..Ive never been that close at a gig before!
After the finale of "Wish I had an angel" and soon after the band had taken a group bow....my heart sank as I knew the night was over...

What an amazing night...I'll never forget it!
