I have a car!

Yes my friends! Today we drove to Birmingham (it was chaos) and saw the little yaris I like :)

Its a really good car, but has some bumps/scratches that need sorting out but they said they will do the work for us and we can go pick it up on Saturday! My own little car! Its silver, and Im planning to get some dice for it haha =P and it drives well too :)

So after having a test drive and taking pics of my little car, we shook hands with the dealers and then left and went to mcdonalds where the staff were getting everything wrong ...and in the end they gave us a free bag of 6 nuggets lol RESULT :)

So we came out of the chaos of Birmingham city center, and went to IKEA and bought tons of random stuff that we don't exactly need - (actually half the stuff we DID need) - and then I nicked some teabags at the end..

Im so tired....I just wanna go sleep!! I will spend all week thinking about my little car =)

Earth to Rachel

"Hello? Is there anybody out there? If you can hear me.... is there anyone at all?"

Seems like forever I wrote my last blog, over 10 days ago infact. The thing is, I've had so much stuff going on that I didn't really have the time to blog or the resources...(the internet) It's been on and off for a while, and the past week has consisited of myself slaving over the computer taking it to pieces and trying to get the darn thing to work! So frustrating. I've also been working at nursery this week and thats been real tiring. Life without internet has been very very annoying....but my parents bought a new amazing computer which I am very jealous of haha.

Theres a lot to blog about, but Im not one for detailing my day to day accounts of the past week, it seems pointless now. I've given an overview, but I want to move forward and hopefully, with a GOOD internet connection, I will be able to blog everyday...or try.

Its good to be back though...the man came today and fixed the wireless network (I HOPE) I wont expect too much because its so iffy it could go off any moment.

I have a driving lesson today, and I think we are learning to "approach complex junctions"...oh that should be fun. I've been looking at cars and seeing how much they are to buy, and I've been studying for my theory test too...need to get it passed. My driving instructor said I should be passed soon (couple of months time) - I hope I pass the first time! I cant wait to drive. I had a weird dream that I took my car out on the road with my friend Jenna, but I wasn't even insured and I got in lots of trouble....argh darn you horrible dreams!

Not much else for the day planned, Im currently listening to Mostly Autumn's cover of Comfortably numb and the end solo is absoloutley amazing...I love this song!

Purple Happenings in York

Hello blogging world

I am typing this at Nicole's house in York ...It's my last day and I've been here since Saturday =] Ive had a great time and dont really want to go home.

Im not in a blogging mood, and typing a day to day account of my stay is a huge effort that I cannot be bothered with....yet. I will attempt this at a later date...

Changing lives

Truly tiring day!

Woke up to the sound of Mum and David arguing about him refusing to go into school...got dressed...drank some of our delicious coffee...ate my jam toast...straightened my hair..turned the straightners ..off...Or did I? I left the house and almost thought I'd run back in to check... but as I was already late for nursery I thought I'd trust my instincts.


Got to nursery and was in pre-school all day. Kids were little terrors, even more than before and David the naughty one was his usual self. Funny as all the staff think I'm amazing as I'm the only one who can calm him down/sit him on a chair and to be honest , shouting at him isn't gonna work. I just get down to his level and approach him calmly..I don't shout or be horrible. So after managing the whole morning of dolls...sand play...tears..tantrums and screams I literally ran out the door for my lunch break. I walked to greggs, got my usual tuna baguette (I cant imagine the amount of calories in one of those) and an iced ring doughnut (yep..not gonna bother counting here either). Walked back to nursery and sat in the freezing cold staff room with my coat wrapped around my legs, texting random people and eating my baguette (which was heavenly like always)...returned to the screams and Gregg made me sing with the children lol I need to learn these nursery rhymes!

About 3, Jo the manager came in and was watching me sitting with the children...I was holding David at the time and he was being tremendously quiet and she was saying "Oh I wish you were here 5 days a week Rachel...David really likes you" and I said "yeah, as an apprentice...I can't find a placement anywhere" putting on the pity talk a bit...maybe she'll change her mind and take me on as an apprentice even though they probably can't afford to pay another one...sucks though as I would love to do my placement there. Anyway, just before I left...another member of staff Lindsey was commenting on how good David had been all day, and Jo replied "Oh yeah, it's cause Rachel is here...every wednesday and thursday he's good because thats the day's Rachel is here" I was like dead happy =]. Glad to know Im making a difference in a child's life!

Im absoloutley shattered now... I have like no strength lol. Same again tomorrow....woo.

Going to Nicky's house this weekend!! York here I come ^_^ I have missed you. We are going to a lovely italian restaurant in Walmgate and yes it is valentines day, but 2 years ago we did the same thing when we first met..so its kinda a anniversary haha. We gonna be with all the valentines couples feeling jealous...but we will probably have our own anti-valentines party afterwards lol. Can't wait...! =]

Thats all I have to say now. Not looking forward to my driving lesson this friday. Friday the 13th. Eep...haven't driven for 3 weeks AND it's an unlucky day... meh. Come on Rach! Be Confident! *eep*

& Yes. I did leave my straightners on and nearly DID burn the house down! Oops

Snow Hype

Snow Snow Snow.

*Begin rant*

Now now england, dont get too excited it's just a bit of snow! These newsreaders on midlands today..take everything so flipping seriously. So what if all the schools were closed and only 18 open in worcestershire... so WHAT? Who wants to go to school and do maths and english, when its chucking it down with 10 centimetres of snow outside? No one. And thats the truth.
I watch my local news every night ; yes call me sad...and they have these reporters dotted around the place donned in hats, scarves and gloves looking ridiculously freezing holding a microphone. And what do they do? Stand there telling us its snowing when I can see for myself that its chucking it down!
Gah, they make such a fuss as well.... reports like..
"Parents angry as headteacher shuts school due to snow"
"Children should be in school, life has to go on"

Yeah but if the roads are mega slippy, and its too dangerous to even get to school then whats the point? Have a few days off, stay at home, drink hot chocolate, play in the snow & HAVE FUN! Argh...
My old school, was shut and the 5 years I was there it never shut once. At 8am this morning both my brothers were informed they had the day off and were over the moon. The headmaster then sent a huge email out to all parents on the email list telling us how he will be "on site tomorrow at 7am , to check the situation" and Im like..oh just close it forgoodness sake! lol. Make such a fuss. Whats one day off gonna do? Nothing!

ALL the schools were shut in my town except ONE, the one where my Mum works! Gutted! She had to go in, but apparentley there were only 16 year 6's in! Like whats the point? Grrr.

I took the day off, I didnt wanna go in as It was snowing outside...but I slept until 1pm and thats why Im awake now typing this as I only got up twelve and a half hours ago lol *weeeeeeeeeeeeeeee* :)

This week has been uneventful to say the least.
Well...On Monday I went to Telford and dropped off my Unit 4 I'd spent most of Sunday working on, and then Mum and I went into the town centre for a bit and had a gorgeous hot chocolate from Hotel Chocolat (it was heaven) and then we went and got Sam's new phone for him and then I met up with Charlotte. We managed to get ourselves a pair of size 9 shoes *gasp* from New Look which was good, and I bought a trendy new scarf which is now my obsession <3. I advised Charlotte to buy a hot chocolate from Hotel Chocolat and after she bought hers, I gave in and bought my second one of the day...mm liquid chocolate <3. We then went back to her house after a really long bus journey in the snow, and then a good half an hour walk in the falling white good stuff. We got back soaked, and then watched edward scissorhands and ate pizza ^_^ good fun.

Tuesday was highly uneventful...I can't even remember what happened. Oh wait, I walked round the cemetary with Mum and Maxie whilst waiting for David and Sam to come out from school. That was it.

Wednesday I worked at Abacus, and was pleased to see the children again. They got me doing everything to washing paint pots to serving food but to be honest its all good. I managed to calm naughty David down again and the staff were impressed. Greg, one of the nursery nurses, then asked me to keep the kids occupied for 10 minutes so I played "Rachel says" with them and they ALL listened to me and I got them reading a book silentley on the floor. Greg was impressed!
The staff then ordered a KFC for me (I payed them back) and Val the cook made me a coffee...and I only volunteer! I'm well in now ;)
So all in all that was good.

Today has been so uneventful....it included sleeping, sleeping, watching tv, computer, showing Vinicius the snow outside, music, more tv, more computer. Thats it! Wow , Lazyness <3
